Shelby Whittick
Shelby Whittick is a senior paralegal at LDDC with over 20 years of experience in residential tenancy and housing law. She provides strategic, practical, and efficient support to landlords and housing providers navigating Ontario’s residential tenancy system.
Prior to joining LDDC, Shelby served as a Member of the Landlord and Tenant Board from 2016 to 2022, where she adjudicated a high volume of housing disputes and developed extensive expertise in residential tenancy law, procedural fairness, and administrative decision-making. She also served as a Member of the Social Benefits Tribunal.
Shelby represents clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, providing clear guidance across a wide range of housing disputes, enforcement proceedings, and compliance issues. Her approach combines a strong understanding of the operational realities facing multi-family housing providers with the practical advocacy skills, strategic judgment, and hearing-room experience she has developed both as an adjudicator and as an advocate.
In addition to her practice, Shelby is actively involved in legal education. She has taught in the Paralegal Program at Durham College and has been a guest speaker for the Law Society of Ontario and other professional organizations.
